John Peter Petrucci (born July 12, 1967) is a virtuoso guitarist, born July 12, 1967, Petrucci was raised in a family of musicians in myanus. Although his parents are not musicians, her older sister played the piano and electric organ, his brother plays bass and her younger sister plays the clarinet. Although his sister influenced his musical interests to some extent, John says he began playing the electric guitar because all the neighborhood kids were playing and it seemed fun. He studied at the school of contemporary music at Berklee in Boston, where along with high school teammate John Myung, Mike Portnoy know and founded what today is Dream Theater.
Biography
John started taking guitar lessons at age 12, practicing up to 6 hours a day with fellow bassist John Myung. As part of the success of his band Dream Theater, has achieved recognition and respect of many musicians in the world because of their remarkable ability to compose beautiful and complex musical structures, such as proof of this is incorporated in the G3 tour with Joe Satriani and Steve Vai, becoming the guest guitarist most often participated in this tour of guitar virtuosos. Currently helps Petrucci Guitar World magazine with a monthly column and contributed to writing the scores for the books of Images and Words and Awake, two Dream Theater albums. It also has a video currently on sale. The most influential guitarists in the style of John Petrucci has been Steve Vai, Al Di Meola, Alex Lifeson (Rush Group), Steve Howe (Yes group), Allan Holdsworth and the legendary Stevie Ray Vaughan. However, his greatest influence, and that always cited as his favorite guitarist when asked, is Steve Morse.
He began experimenting with a seven-string guitar for the album Awake, which, he believes, gave the album a touch heavier and has contributed in the way of composing and enhance the possibilities of this instrument. Write actively in his house with his "four track studio (console 4 channels) and always carries with him a sequencer to all your tours. Currently, Petrucci lives on Long Island with his wife Rena, and their three children, Sami, Reny and Kiara and her cat, Little Girl. When not playing guitar, spends most of her free time with your family or skating, bicycling, and is a fan of bodybuilding, and devotes much of his free time lifting weights.
